You're done.
you can switch step 5. by: right mouse click, choose "Reset"

If the way above doesn't work do this

*Note your path may be different as I am using Windows 7*

Delete the file Ask.xml

Bam problem solved

this works! I have just tried it. I spent over an hour trying to uninstall the actual address bar and this was the only way. I uninstalled firefox and installed it again previously but it kept ALOT still. The toolbar was easy to get rid off by doinremove ask toolbarg the add-ons thing.

I meant to say what Cogari says works.

I had that EXACT same problem with the ALOT toolbar. I had already uninstalled the program, but my web address bar would take me directly to an ALOT search page.

To get rid of it, i had to uninstall firefox & reinstall. When they ask if you want to save your personal stuff & bookmarks, you have to click no, or ASK/ALOT will stay.
Cogari- I tried that but there is nothing in the extension box. Is there another way? This thing hijacks my webpages.
