free anti virus software xpWhat is a good free anti

What is a good free anti-virus software for Windows XP?
Avast 5 is the best. The only thing this program lacks is a link scanner that is available in AVG's free and paid versions. However,AVG provides their Link Scanner as a free, stand alone, download. There is another good link scanner called the McAfee Site Adviser. Avira AntiVir Personal 9,although a top of the line anti-virus,lacks features that are available in Avast 5 and AVG 9.I use Avast 5 and the McAfee Site Adviser.Don't get W.O.T.;it's user rated and can be biased and unreliable.

All these prfree anti virus software xpograms are available free at CNET
Avast.
You can try either Avira AntiVir (http://www.free-av.com/) or Avast (http://www.avast.com/). They are fast and have very good comments.

Microsoft Security Essentials, best one I've had so far.

go to www.download.com,there you will find the 'avria',i have used it over the years and i is a good free one///////
avast5 - www.avast.com -
and then use for malware removal - you need to use both protections - run both scans
AVG Free.
Just personal opinion of course. I use Avast , I have also got superantispyware and Mfree anti virus software xpalwarebytes. I recently changed to Comodo firewall which seems fine and I seem to boot up quicker. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans Hackers etc. I also use Windows Defender from the Microsoft site. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A/V and anti spy weekly.
You will have to find the appropriate links as i am now getting violations each time I post a link. Seems like I have a troll.
