I received a Apple Software Update and I'm wondering if it will be harmful to my computer or necessary.
Bonjour is a service that lets other Bonjour-enabled devices find and connect to your PC. It's safe to install, and you can turn off in MS Config (Start > Run > MSCONFIG). Really if you aren't going to be sharing files between your PC and a Mac over youbonjour for windows software downloadr home network or anything like that then you don't need it. It's much more useful on a Mac than on a PC. On a Mac you can use Bonjour to send documents to a shared printer, talk to nearby people in iChat without being connected to the internet, share files between two Macs without an internet connection or Firewire cable, etc.
As for whether it's harmfbonjour for windows software downloadul, no, it's not. It's not exactly useful, but it won't do any damage to your PC, and like I said you can just turn it off if you don't want it on.
Bonjour is the Apple updating system, It worried me too because it was annoyingly a process that consumed some bandwidth.
It's not harmful, just annoying.
